It feels like the San Francisco 49ers have not gone a single day this offseason without Brandon Aiyuk posting about how he wants to leave the team for the Washington Commanders. The organization and fans alike are almost expecting the social media videos at this point, and it would be weird if Aiyuk didn’t post something about his situation.
Well, lo and behold, after already posting a video from his closet on Thursday, the 28-year-old wide receiver shared another video on social media. This time, however, Aiyuk is claiming that he is already on the Commanders roster, even though he very clearly is not, acting as though he is a music artist going on tour, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
“What’s up, everybody,” said Aiyuk. “It’s your boy [Brandon Aiyuk]. I’m back in action and back on tour this fall. Go to WWW dot Commanders dot com to get your tickets and watch us rock out.”
Brandon Aiyuk now posts a video announcing he’s “back on tour” and that tickets to come see him can be found on the Washington Commanders website.
Aiyuk is still a member of the 49ers.

Expectations are that the 49ers will eventually release the five-year veteran. However, when that will be is completely unknown. It is also uncertain if the Commanders are interested in potentially signing Aiyuk for the 2026-27 season.
While questions remain unanswered, at least one NFL insider believes Washington may have to seriously consider adding Brandon Aiyuk if he becomes available soon. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell ranked the Commanders’ skill position groups 27th in the league.
With concerns about Terry McLaurin’s health and age (30 years old), along with the lack of depth in the wide receiver room and questionable tight end and running back situations, signing Brandon Aiyuk might be a smart move for the Commanders. However, Barnwell did warn the franchise in his piece that Aiyuk may not be an immediate impact star, as he hasn’t played since the 2024-25 campaign and would need to adjust to the new offense.
Aiyuk flashed major potential as a No. 1 option in the passing game with the 49ers on more than one occasion throughout his career. Through 69 games played with the franchise, the former first-round pick has totaled 294 receptions, 4,305 yards, and 25 touchdowns.
