Bombshell Rumor: Cowboys Hit with Massive Trade Offer From NFC Powerhouse for Superstar LB Micah Parsons

There’s a rumor going around social media about a top NFC team submitting a significant trade offer to the Dallas Cowboys for All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons.

Tomorrow marks two weeks since Micah Parsons went public with his trade request in a lengthy statement on X/Twitter. The 26-year-old cited his frustration with the lack of progress in contract negotiations, with owner Jerry Jones preferring to discuss an extension with Parsons instead of his agent.

Dallas has not indicated that they’ll honor Parsons’ trade request. For what it’s worth, the four-time Pro Bowler was spotted watching Cowboys practice on Wednesday in his jersey.

“X” user @RickeyScoops, who claims to be a former NFL insider with over 40,000 followers, claims that one of the Cowboys’ archrivals submitted a blockbuster trade pitch for Micah Parsons.

According to Rickey, the Green Bay Packers “have a very serious trade offer on the table” for Parsons. This is only a rumor that hasn’t been backed up by reputable NFL insiders, so take it with a grain of salt:

BARKING RUMOR. Even though I don't think he will be traded, the #Packers have a very serious trade offer on the table to the #Cowboys for Micah Parsons #GoPackGo #DallasCowboys pic.twitter.com/6EoFyeSVq2

The Packers obviously make sense as a trade suitor for Micah Parsons, given their wide-open competitive window. But this is an organization that rarely makes blockbuster trades, and it’s hard to envision Dallas trading away its franchise star to a heated rival.

The Likely Scenario Is That Cowboys Pay Micah Parsons

At the end of the day, the likeliest outcome is that Parsons and the Cowboys agree on a lucrative long-term deal that will pay him around $40 million a season. The four-year, $160 million extension Myles Garrett just signed with the Cleveland Browns feels like a reasonable comparison, though the former is four years older than Parsons.

Trade requests don’t usually mean much in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers), Brandon Aiyuk (San Francisco 49ers) and Deebo Samuel (49ers) previously requested trades before signing new deals with their clubs.
