Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders continued to make a strong impression in offseason workouts as he tries to earn a spot on the roster.

Sanders appears to be impressing his coaches so far, with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees saying he has “worked his tail off.”

He could not only make the roster but also see himself making it to being the starter. It’s still way too early to draw any conclusions about the four-man QB battle between Sanders, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel.

In the meantime, his play in OTAs has others thinking about what could be in the future.

If the team would like to part ways with one of its drafted quarterbacks, it might find a young starter with some experience now.

The Indianapolis Colts benched Anthony Richardson in favor of Flacco during the middle of last season and acquired former New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings signal-caller Daniel Jones in free agency. It seems as if the team might be done with the Richardson experiment.

All signs point to Richardson being on his last chance to establish himself as Indy’s long-term starter, but things are not looking good for him.

By trading for Richardson this summer or ahead of the 2025 deadline, the Browns could control Richardson’s contract rights for up to three seasons.

The Colts had four opportunities to draft Shedeur Sanders but chose to pass up on him.

Heavy.com is proposing the Browns “could potentially make an offer of Sanders and a fourth-round pick in 2026 in exchange for Richardson.”

According to Pro Football Reference, Richardson has thrown for 2,391 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 15 starts across two seasons. He has also rushed the football 111 times for 635 yards and 10 TDs.

Shedeur Sanders Is Trending Upwards

Shedeur Sanders is stepping into one of the most crowded quarterback rooms in the league, but according to one former NFL quarterback, he still has a real shot at winning the job.

The Cleveland Browns have four quarterbacks competing for the starting role: Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Sanders.

Former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck explained why Sanders has a legitimate shot at competing for the starting job.

“Going to a spot that does not have an entrenched starter is a benefit to any quarterback because at least there’s an opportunity [to be the starter],” Hasselbeck said. “If you go to Buffalo, you’re just there to be Josh Allen’s backup. If you go somewhere else that doesn’t have an entrenched starter, you have a chance. That’s the glimmer of hope.”
