Most professional athletes are blessed with a borderline unfair amount of athletic talent that allows them to hold their own in sports they don’t even play for a living. That includes Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman, who put on a show in a charity basketball game organized by Damar Hamlin.
There are a number of guys who made it to the NFL who played football and basketball when they were in college. That piece of trivia tended to be trotted out in every single game Antonio Gates played, and the club also boasts former stars like Jimmy Graham, Julius Peppers, and Tony Gonzalez.
Keon Coleman became the latest member to be welcomed into the fold after the Bills drafted one of the most entertaining players in the 2024 draft class with the 33rd overall pick.
The Louisiana native initially committed to play football and basketball at Michigan State, and he appeared in six games as a member of Tom Izzo’s squad during his freshman year (averaging less than one point and two minutes per contest) before opting to focus exclusively on the college gridiron career he capped off at Florida State.
However, the 22-year-old wideout still knows his way around the hardwood based on the show he put on while playing in the charity basketball game that Damar Hamlin organized last weekend to benefit his Chasing M’s foundation.
The showdown attracted notable names including Tyreek Hill, Aaron Donald, and Dez Bryant, but Coleman was firmly the star of the show as he pulled out some absurd dunks to contribute to the 60 points he ended up scoring during the game that went down at Duquesne University’s Cooper Fieldhouse.

Coleman ended up accounting for close to half of his team’s points in the 124-108 victory, and while one person who claimed to be keeping tabs on his total asserted he “only” scored 56, that’s still nothing to scoff at.
