The Buffalo Bills brought back a former draft pick of the team, signing offensive lineman Nick Broeker to the practice squad. Broeker was originally selected out of Ole Miss by One Bills Drive with pick 230 in Round 7 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Broeker was released on August 29, 2023 during roster cutdown day, at which point he signed with the Houston Texans — where he remained until the spring of 2025. He spent time this summer and during training camp with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys
When news broke that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were expected to sign offensive lineman Dan Feeney to their 53-man roster off Buffalo’s practice squad, that opened up a spot for Broeker to return. He brings plenty of college experience in addition to his work with several NFL team. There’s a lot to like in Broeker’s film, even considering Buffalo’s loaded offensive line room.
Could this be Broeker’s best shot yet at sticking with the Bills? It was a difficult journey to the active roster in 2023, and things have only gotten more challenging two seasons later. The hope is that he’s able to continue maturing into the role general manager Brandon Beane envisioned back in 2023.
