On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills once again fell short in their quest to return to a Super Bowl for the first time in 31 years. Their bugaboo, the Kansas City Chiefs, once again found a way to beat Buffalo, 32-29.

After the game, plenty of people were taking to social media to say that the game was rigged against the Bills after the Chiefs were beneficiaries of a few close calls. But, Buffalo running back James Cook is not buying into that narrative.

There are two calls that fans and observers are saying “proves” that the NFL rigged the game for the Chiefs.

The first came in the first half on this play that was ultimately ruled a Xavier Worthy catch both on the field and after review, as they could not find indisputable evidence to overturn the call.

Ultimately, had the pass been ruled incomplete, it would have been a first down for Kansas City, as there was defensive holding on the play. The fact that it was called a catch actually saved Buffalo time, and they were able to score a touchdown of their own to match Kansas City’s touchdown a few players later.

Then, there was this spot of the ball on a crucial fourth down that was ruled short of the line to gain and upheld after review.

Both of those calls could’ve gone the other way, and people are sick and tired of the Chiefs winning, so they say that the NFL is rigging games.

James Cook, who had a fantastic postseason, doesn’t want to hear it.

“F**k that ref sh*t” #Bills’ RB James Cook gave the realest answer when asked about the referee’s cheating for the #Chiefs.

That’s the right attitude to have if you’re a player for sure. Blaming the refs sure won’t help you beat Kansas City the next time they meet in the playoffs. That meeting would be the fifth between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
