Bills news: Josh Allen, Sean McDermott, more talk Denver Broncos matchup
Buffalo Rumblings Buffalo Rumblings

The Buffalo Bills (12-5) face another stiff challenge in the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs, heading to Denver to take on the top-seeded Broncos (14-3) at 4:30 p.m. EST Saturday afternoon.

As the Bills prepare to play the Broncos, who boast one of the NFL’s best defenses, a stout run defense, and plenty of pass rushers, today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by hearing from quarterback Josh Allen, safety Cole Bishop, wide receiver Keon Coleman, head coach Sean McDermott, and other members of the Bills as the team gets ready to take on the Broncos.

Bills continue to embrace “next man up” mentality heading into clash vs. Broncos

Buffalo emerged victorious by a 27-24 score against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, but the Bills did not escape the game without injuries, losing wide receivers Gabe Davis and Tyrell Shavers to season-ending ACL tears.

The Bills also saw safety Jordan Poyer reaggravate a hamstring injury and saw Josh Allen evaluated for a possible concussion, have a hyperextended knee looked at, and hit his throwing hand on one of his offensive lineman’s helmets in the victory in Jacksonville.

McDermott says that’s just how things go this time of year, as every team is contending with injuries. He says the Bills “are going to need everyone” and will need to “execute and play for each other” while embracing their “next man up” philosophy.

Meanwhile, Allen gave an update on the litany of injuries he’s playing through, wide receiver Keon Coleman discussed the opportunity to contribute as part of a depleted wide receiver room, left tackle Dion Dawkins previews the challenge Denver’s defensive line will pose; and more!

Could Ed Oliver play vs. Broncos?

Defensive tackle Ed Oliver has only played in three games this season after suffering a hamstring injury in Buffalo’s Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens. When he returned to action against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8, Oliver tore his biceps muscle and hasn’t returned to the field since.

But Oliver, who was a limited participant in both Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s practice sessions, is eligible to be activated from the Injured Reserve list in time for Buffalo’s Divisional Round game against the Denver Broncos.
