Bills news: Bradley Chubb is hungry to lead Buffalo to a championship

The Buffalo Bills’ big defensive acquisition this offseason was edge rusher Bradley Chubb, who was signed to bolster Buffalo’s pass rush, especially in the playoffs, where the Bills have consistently failed to generate enough pressure in their previous postseason losses.

Chubb comes to Western New York with an intense drive to help the Bills finally get over their postseason hump and win a Super Bowl, and that winning a championship is “what I’m here now for” with a “hunger [that] is through the roof.”

With the Bills on a break for the next five-plus weeks following the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp, today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off with thoughts on what stood out from minicamp, including how Chubb (pictured below) has already made an impact on Buffalo’s locker room and on the Bills younger defensive linemen.

What we learned about Bills at mandatory minicamp

New head coach Joe Brady has already said that Bradley Chubb will serve as one of the team’s captains, a role Chubb has quickly embraced with his new team. Earlier this offseason, Chubb started mentoring 2026 second-round draft pick T.J. Parker through training sessions in Florida, and that bond has only gotten stronger as the offseason has progressed through minicamp.

“[Chubb’s] down there in Florida, so I’m like, ‘Let’s go ahead and get in that heat and let’s work,'” Parker said. “So, super excited about that and just can’t wait to continue building that bond.”

What else stood out from mandatory minicamp? The Bills have an intense competition on their hands between newcomer Austin Corbett (pictured below) and returnee Alec Anderson in the battle to claim the starting left guard role; reigning NFL rushing leader James Cook is ready to repeat last year’s success while vowing to reduce his fumbles; outside linebacker Michael Hoecht continues to impress as he works his way back from a torn right Achilles; and rookie linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr made the most of his opportunity to showcase his skills with Dorian Williams sidelined.
