Bills fans have repeatedly gone out of their way to show their support for players on other teams by donating sizeable amounts of cash to admirable causes they’re associated with. Now, Mark Andrews has become the latest beneficiary in the wake of the costly drop that helped Buffalo punch its ticket to the AFC Championship Game.

Sunday’s AFC Divisional showdown between the Bills and the Ravens promised to be a fantastic game featuring two of the best quarterbacks the NFL has to offer, and the snow-filled tilt definitely lived up to the hype.

Buffalo headed into the locker room with a 21-10 lead at the end of the second quarter but spent the second half fending off Baltimore’s attempt at a comeback before the Ravens got the chance to tie things up with a two-point conversion in the wake of a touchdown that made the score 27-25 with around a minute-and-a-half left in regulation.

It looked like Lamar Jackson was going to be able to connect with Mark Andrews for the game-tying score, but the tight end (who’d already coughed up a costly fumble earlier in the quarter) was unable to reel in the pass and essentially sealed Buffalo’s victory with the drop.

Jackson and Ravens coach John Harbaugh went out of their way to voice their support for Andrews after their season came to a disappointing end, but there were more than a few people who crossed the line when it came to directing their ire at the man responsible for two of the game’s most notable blunders.

On Monday, a Bills fan named Nicholas Howard started a GoFundMe in the hopes of drumming up some donations for Breakthrough T1D, an organization devoted to juvenile diabetes research that Andrews (who was diagnosed with the disease as a child) has worked with in the past.

It didn’t take long for other members of Bills Mafia to answer the call, as the fundraiser has generated close to $60,000 as of this writing and was amplified when the Ravens highlighted the push on Tuesday night.

Shout out to Bills Mafia for showing support to our guy Mark Andrews and donating to the @BreakthroughT1D organization, which works towards curing and improving the lives of those dealing with Type 1 diabetes. https://t.co/tQfjchcmOx

This is far from the first time Bills fans have pulled a similar move, as Jackson was the target after he suffered a concussion in 2021 and Tyler Bass received a similar outpouring of support after he missed a crucial field goal against the Chiefs last season.

You love to see it.
