The Buffalo Bills’ pass rush showed up in a big way against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. With Ed Oliver out for the season, the return of Michael Hoecht and the emergence of Joey Bosa was just on time. The Bills sacked Mahomes three times in the first three quarters of the game.

But, as a Mahomes pass fell incomplete to force a 4th & 17, Michael Hoecht hopped off the field in a panic. After sitting on the bench with trainers surrounding him, the cart was called to the Bills sideline, but the fifth-year defensive end waved it away and stayed seated on the bench near teammates. However, the Bills announced that he would be ruled out with an Achilles injury.

Hoecht spent the first six weeks of the season on the NFL’s suspension list . In his first game as a Buffalo Bill in Week 8, he recorded one and a half sacks. In Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the twenty-eight-year old split a sack with Greg Rousseau and recorded a tackle before exiting the game.
