Great news, Bills Mafia! Defensive tackle Ed Oliver and linebacker Dorian Williams will be active on Monday. I wish that was all the news we got from One Bills Drive on Saturday, but if you’ve been following the Buffalo Bills for any time at all, you know there’s more.

So, while the Bills will get to (hopefully) see Ed Oliver and rookie defensive tackle Deone Walker play side by side for the first time, they also lost defensive tackle T.J. Sanders for the foreseeable future. On Saturday, the team announced that they were placing Sanders on Injured Reserve (IR) and that he would undergo knee surgery.

Oliver, who hasn’t played since Week 1, being back is a huge plus for a defense that’s struggled this season, but they are still sitting with just three DTs on the active roster for Monday night’s game with the Atlanta Falcons. Defensive tackle Zion Logue is out of practice squad elevations for the season, so it could be Phidarian Mathis who gets the game check, his second of the season, this week.

While Dorian Williams’ knee injury is better and he’s practiced all week, linebacker Matt Milano’s pectoral injury has him already ruled out for Monday night. The Bills chose not to place Milano on IR, which would indicate they are hopeful they will get him back before Week 11. But for right now, it’s musical chairs in the Bills’ linebacker room and Milano was the one left without a chair. Last weekend, Buffalo did sign linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo to the 53-man roster, meaning they have five guys to fill out that squad, so it’s unlikely they will elevate a PS linebacker this week.

Wide receiver Curtis Samuel played in exactly two games this season before he found his way back to the daily injury reports. After catching two passes and scoring a touchdown on Sunday, the nine-year-veteran spent time bouncing from limited practice to not participating back to a limited day to end the week as he deals with both neck and rib injuries.

The Bills have six receivers on their active roster. They have sat one of them every week. Count on it being Samuel who’s in street clothes again this week and wide receiver Elijah Moore who gets another chance to prove he should be playing every week.

Also questionable is tight end Dalton Kincaid. At the end of the 2024 season general manager Brandon Beane made it clear that the Bills wanted their 2023 first round draft pick to become more durable. Kincaid struggled with some knee injuries last season, but that’s not what’s ailing him now. Kincaid, who is averaging 14.35 yards per catch and has scored three touchdowns over the past five weeks, has been limited all week with an oblique injury. Now he’s listed as questionable for Monday night.

Buffalo has three tight ends on their active roster, and they have used every one of them each week. Kincaid has shown flashes of what Bills fans envisioned...
