The Buffalo Bills have announced practice squad call-ups for Week 3, elevating two players who saw the same fortune last Sunday against the New York Jets. Veteran defensive tackle Zion Logue and rookie undrafted free-agent linebacker Keonta Jenkins could both end up active and playing in their second-consecutive game on a short week. With the news that defensive tackle Ed Oliver and linebacker Matt Milano will miss Week 3, this is a pair of call-ups that makes positional sense.
Against the Jets, Logue and Jenkins both contributed significant snaps. Logue played 16 snaps (34% of defensive plays), and made one assisted tackle that also gave him half a sack. Logue’s impact was felt beyond the stat line, with him making life difficult for the Jets several times across series.
Jenkins played exclusively on special teams, and was part of 14 plays (50% of ST snaps) while flying around the field. The Bills have until 90 minutes before kickoff this evening to announce roster inactives, which we’ll report on as soon as information is available.
