The Buffalo Bills final training camp session of 2025 proved to be a tense and concerning affair, per reports from various members of the media on August 21. Tension is building with key roster decisions just days away. Also building, appears to be Buffalo’s already lengthy list of injuries. Bills reporter Sal Capaccio shared a massive update out of the final session, noting:

“Bills CB Tre’Davious White hopped off the field on one leg today and was immediately looked at by trainers. He stood by the outside wall with them for several minutes before walking slowly (on his own, with a trainer nearby) into the locker room area. White later walked back down the tunnel towards the field where he then sat in a cart and was driven out.”

White is back with Buffalo after a difficult season away in Los Angeles and Baltimore. He remains in line to start at outside cornerback, with team’s top 2025 draft pick, rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston still recovering from an LCL sprain.

This is news that’s likely to have Bills Mafia a tad concerned, but it’s key to note that the team has provided no official word or injury diagnosis as of publishing. To that end, Joe Buscaglia with The Athletic, provided an update that gives a bit of perspective and context behind why White may have been on a cart, tweeting:

“It is a *very long* walk back to the fieldhouse locker room from the stadium, and up quite an incline of the ramp in the tunnel.”

There is no clear timetable set for Hairston’s return (and his immense lack of experience to this point), so White’s situation will bear monitoring. Behind White (and Hairston), Buffalo lists Ja’Marcus Ingram and Te’Cory Couch as direct subs.

Adding potential insult to (unconfirmed) injury, is the news shared by ESPN Bills reporter Alaina Getzenberg that cornerback Christian Benford also left practice early on Thursday. Buffalo has Dane Jackson as Benford’s primary sub, with Dorian Strong (rookie), and Daequan Hardy at the back end.

The Bills also list Brandon Codrington, Zy Alexander, Tre Herndon, and Jordan Hancock (rookie, injured) at cornerback. Thankfully, it appears as though Benford is fine, and that he just needed some rest:
