The Pittsburgh Steelers boast one of the most passionate fan bases in the world—and this passion sometimes knows no bounds.

Outspoken Steelers superfan and creator of the Terrible Tailgate, Kevin Adams, used his own money to potentially spark a much-needed change in 2025: to get rid of HC Mike Tomlin.

Tomlin has been criticized for his poor decision-making in games, his inability to adapt to today’s offensive mindset, and his acceptance of mediocre winning seasons over playoff victories.

One of the most shocking decisions was the Pittsburgh Steelers’ choice to bring Tomlin back in 2025, despite the late-season collapse that saw the team lose five straight games to close out the 2024 season.

Adams had seen enough mediocrity from his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and paid for a billboard sign that reads: “The standard is mediocrity. Trade Tomlin or sell the team, Rooney. We’ve had enough.”

Truly, Tomlin’s infamous ‘standard’ no longer refers to winning championships, and Adams’ billboard symbolizes the frustrations felt by most fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who watched their beloved Black and Gold lose out on another postseason opportunity in 2024.
