Bill Belichick has hardly made the news or gone viral for reasons other than his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, this year. But the man is still a football coach, one of the best in the business at that.
Belichick has coached some of the best football players to ever play in the NFL, including Tom Brady, who’s widely considered to be the GOAT.
While there was plenty of friction and butting heads in that Patriots locker room, Belichick and Brady won six Super Bowls together. At one point, it seemed like their dynasty would become even greater, with Antonio Brown coming over.
Brown, one of the best wide receivers in NFL history, was expected to form an unstoppable pairing with Brady. But the experiment lasted less than two weeks.
It appears Belichick made a real effort to keep the player around as he spent $5,000 on special milk just so the quarterback and wideout would remain on good terms.
The former Pats coach was a recent guest on ‘The Pivot,’ where he discussed his new book ‘The Art of Winning: Lessons From a Life in Football.’ He recalled AB joining the team and briefly staying with Brady, also buying the QB some special milk.
“Antonio ordered this special milk for Brady, it cost $5,000. And, to make a long story short, it kinda got mixed up and ended up in the mail room for too long, and the milk went bad,” the new UNC head coach said.
Unfortunately, Bill doesn’t go into any details about the milk. But football fans would know that the former QB is very particular about what he puts into his body, so it definitely wasn’t regular milk.
“So, we go out and get $5,000 worth of milk, this special milk, and give it to Brady from Antonio, even though, you know. So now, we turn in an expense report like $5,000 worth of milk. Sometimes, you’ve just got to do the right thing, and I didn’t want to ruin the relationship between Brown and Brady on this spoiled milk.”
Brady is thought to be partial to oat milk, but no brand is expensive enough to cost $5,000 if you’re buying it in regular quantity. Donkey milk, on the other hand, is pretty pricey and might be the most expensive milk available.
Still, we have to go with GOAT milk. It’s the only thing that makes sense.
It’s also doubtful that the players would have fallen out over this. It wasn’t Brady or Brown’s fault – if anything, they’d be mad at whoever was responsible for having it stay in the mail room.
