Who’s the greatest NFL tight end? Ask three different people and you’re likely to get three different answers. Is it Tony Gonzalez? What about Rob Gronkowski? Maybe it’s Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce?
There is no obvious answer, despite Gronkowski calling Kelce the GOAT receiving tight end just last year. Although in doing so, he angered a number of Patriots fans who could not possibly fathom that somebody could ever be better than their beloved franchise hero.
As it turns out, however, not only does Gronkowski think that Kelce is the GOAT receiving tight end, but legendary former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick used tape of Kelce to try and teach Gronkowski how to become a better player.

“After the catch, getting (Kelce) on the ground, it’s not the easiest thing in the world,” Belichick said on this week’s episode of “Inside the NFL.” “But by slowing down and being under control and anticipating that these DBs are going to go low on him, that’s the way to avoid those tackles.
“So I talked to Rob about this. Rob eventually became a much better runner with the ball in his hands by slowing down and getting it under control.”
Belichick explained that Gronkowski used to run full speed toward the end zone after making a catch. That allowed defenders to line him before making the tackle. Because Kelce adjusts his speed, it can be difficult to get an angle on him and he has multiple tools at his disposal to cause a missed tackle.
“Belichick just destroyed years of arguments with a clip of 15 seconds,” one fan said of the clip.
“I never want to hear another person say that Kelce is not the GOAT. Argue with your mom,” said another.
Now, again, the GOAT debate is never going away when it comes to the tight end position. But this is definitely a point in the favor of Kelce.
