Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will appear on Monday night’s “ManningCast” during the Steelers-Texans AFC Wild Card game. The game will air on ESPN, while the ManningCast will be televised simultaneously on ESPN2 and streamed on ESPN+.

Roethlisberger will make his ManningCast debut in the second half. The first half guest will be J.J. Watt, who has ties to both teams. J.J. Watt is a Texans legend and the brother of Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt.

ESPN’s alternate ManningCast broadcast, featuring former NFL stars Peyton and Eli Manning, started in 2021. The program has won a combined total of four Sports Emmy Awards. These include both program-specific awards and individual awards for its hosts.

Eli Manning and Roethlisberger were a part of the legendary 2004 quarterback draft class. Manning was selected at No. 1 overall by the San Diego Chargers before being traded to the New York Giants, who had the fourth overall pick. San Diego got quarterback Philip Rivers in the swap. Roethlisberger was selected by the Steelers at 11th overall.

The Steelers have won a remarkable 23 straight games on Monday Night Football in Pittsburgh, last losing on Oct. 14, 1991 against the New York Giants at Three Rivers Stadium. The Steelers beat the Miami Dolphins, 28-15, on MNF at Acrisure Stadium in Week 15.

On the flip side, the Steelers have lost six straight playoff games, last winning a playoff contest on Jan. 15, 2017. It’s the longest playoff win drought for the franchise since pre-1972.

Outside of the 45-42 Divisional Round loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the five other Steelers’ playoff losses have been 10+ point losses during the six-game losing streak. The Steelers trailed 21-0 to open the game against Jacksonville, however.

The Steelers largest deficits during six-game playoff losing streak have been 27, 21, 28, 28, 21 and 21 points. They are the only team in playoff history to trail by 21+ in six straight (nobody else has done it in even four straight), according to Doug Clawson of CBS Sports.

The Texans also have a streak on the line to snap. Houston is 0-6 in road playoff games.
