Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger plans to make his mark on the organization once again.

Former quarterback Ben Roethlisberger helped the Pittsburgh Steelers reach three Super Bowls and win two during his illustrious 18-year NFL career. Now he has revealed his aspirations to return to the organization but in a much different role.

“I think at some point, it’d be fun to kind of get back involved,” Roethlisberger said on the Almost Athletes with Dude Perfect podcast. “Probably not as much as (John) Elway where you’re a GM. Nothing like that. I’d love to pull like the (Dan) Marino or Jim Kelly, where they’re just kind of like, ‘Oh, you wanna ask a question? I’ll talk about it.’ Be kind of a little face. That’d be fun at some point, but I don’t know. Some ownership would be cool at some point, but that’s down the road.”

Roethlisberger, 43, hung up his cleats for good following the 2021 NFL season, and he has since not been afraid to share his opinions about his former team on his “Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger” podcast.

In fact, he just shared his thoughts on what he would do to help the team’s struggling offense.

“I’ve heard some things that Aaron (Rodgers), this last game, when they finally moved the ball, Aaron was just calling plays,” he said. “Maybe it’s one of those situations where we unhook the helmet and let Aaron do his thing.”

If the Steelers think what Roethlisberger has to say or his expertise could bring value to their organization, a reunion of some sort could make sense. However, that doesn’t seem likely to happen in the near future.

Roethlisberger is one of Pittsburgh’s greatest athletes of all time. Through his 18 seasons in the league, he threw for 64,088 yards, 211 touchdowns and 97 interceptions while being named to six Pro Bowls.
