The new guys are here to talk about the Chargers newest jerseys
Welcome back to another BFTB roundtable!
These roundtables are kind of hard to do when you don’t have enough people to sit around the table, but if you haven’t noticed, we’ve got a few new faces at the site! So here’s an unofficial welcome to Kyle Phoenix and Jeremy Brener, who will be your new contributors at BFTB this season!
Without further ado, we’ve got some new uniforms to talk about! The Chargers just dropped a new yellow jersey, powder blue pants, and a whole new navy throwback uniform that pays homage to those tremendous teams in the late 2000s led by LaDainian Tomlinson, Philip Rivers, and Antonio Gates.
The Chargers now have so many options for game day that I’m not sure they have enough weeks in the season to wear them all! So let’s talk about it.
Here’s everyone’s opinions on the new threads and if you want to get in on the conversation, go ahead and drop all of our thoughts below!

When the Chargers did their massive overhaul of the uniforms in 2020, they dropped them on my birthday. It was awesome and all the new uniforms were beyond amazing. This reveal was also great, but I can’t say it had the impact I was hoping for.
The navy throwbacks are exactly what I hoped they’d be. They have that feel of what a throwback should be and they represent one of the best eras of Chargers football.
The gold ones on the other hand...I’m very torn on. It’s cool to do something so different and be a bit of a trailblazer with a color never used before as a primary uniform color, but it sure looks just like all the unofficial yellow uniforms that have been sold for the past few seasons. And I mean, it looks EXACTLY like the unofficial ones. Like they straight took the idea and made it a jersey without much additional thought.
If I had my way, I would have made a white uniform to go with the navy throwback tops, just like the ones they wore in the same era.
Either way, my final opinion is that these are great and I can’t wait to see them in action on the field.
Jeremy Brener
The Chargers jerseys are easy on the eye, with the exception of that gold jersey that looks more like a yellow.
My personal favorite has to be the navy jerseys since it looks the closest to the San Diego era. When I look at those jerseys, I think of LT, Drew Brees and Junior Seau, some of the best players in franchise history.
The powder blues are also a nice touch, as long as it is worn with a white jersey. I think the yellow/gold jerseys should be worn once and never again, while the navy blues should be considered as the new primary uniforms in the years to come.
Kyle Phoenix...
