Some halftime shows just hit different. Beyonce’s Christmas Day performance for the Ravens-Texans game for the 2024 season wasn’t just another musical interlude. It turned into a ratings spike, a viral moment, and now, an award-winning piece of NFL entertainment.
The crowd at NRG Stadium got the full “Cowboy Carter” treatment. Beyonce rolled through tracks from her country album in front of a roaring audience, while Netflix viewers at home tuned in by the millions. According to reports, the broadcast hit 27 million viewers at its peak during her set. That’s the kind of pull few artists can match.
Now she’s got another trophy to prove it. Beyonce took home an Emmy Award for outstanding costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming. The win adds to her already packed collection of 35 Grammys and pushes her a step closer to the elite EGOT status.
The award will obviously not come without a twist. An insider told Us Weekly about it, “They would charge her for each once they found. It’s for players’ safety because anything like that on the field could cause injury.” They even threatened to fine her $500 for every crystal found on the field. It didn’t stop the show, but it made for one of the strangest halftime headlines in recent memory.

This isn’t her first big NFL moment. In 2013, Beyonce lit up the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans, even reuniting Destiny’s Child with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. She returned in 2016 to join Coldplay at Super Bowl 50.
Whether she’s headlining her own set or jumping in with other stars, Beyonce knows how to own a stadium. After this latest win, fans are already wondering if the next Super Bowl could be her stage again.
