The Cleveland Browns figure to have a stiff quarterback competition to win the starting job. Between Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders, head coach Kevin Stefanski will have his work cut out for him, picking the best man for the job.
Soon enough, that competition will take place as Browns training camp gets underway on July 18 when rookies report. While each QB would love to win the job, many are intrigued to learn how Sanders performs, especially after the projected first or second-day pick slipped all the way to the fifth round.
So, where will Sanders start on the Browns’ depth chart?
According to the Polymarket Sports betting market, Sanders is expected to begin as the fourth-string QB on the Browns’ depth chart. Which is as expected, considering he was selected two rounds after Gabriel. Not to mention, Flacco has a strong resume, including a Super Bowl win.
Meanwhile, Pickett is a former first-round pick who could be poised for a breakout season, much like we saw from Sam Darnold last season.
Basically, Sanders will have to have a really strong training camp, followed by impressive preseason performances to leap ahead of anyone on the Browns’ QB depth chart.
