Bolts From The Blue
In four games since being acquired by the Chargers in a trade from the Ravens, pass rusher Odafe Oweh has racked up four sacks. That’s four more than he had in the first five games of the year for Baltimore prior to being dealt. He’s been used mainly as a rotational pass rusher but he’s made the most of his opportunities and currently leads the team in quarterback takedowns over the past month.
Several other players also stood out in big moments, including a rookie wideout who moved the chains when it was needed most.
Let’s go ahead and see how the Chargers graded out in this week’s victory over the Titans.

Herbert shrugged off an early pick-six to throw for over 250 yards and two touchdowns on top of rushing for another via the tush push. He played well after a shaky start to help keep the Chargers from dropping another game they should have won handedly.
Harris only caught a pair of passes for 18 yards but his second catch was a magnificent second effort that moved the chains late in the game to help seal the seven-point win. Allen also caught just two passes but one broke for 30+ yards.
Johnston got back into the score column with a spectacular grab from a magnificent ball by Herbert that he threaded just over the top of a defender’s fingers.

For the second consecutive game, Sarell allowed six pressures while filling in for injured starter Mekhi Becton at right guard. The Titans were without their best defensive lineman, so this looks even worse.
Pipkins filled in for Bobby Hart after the latter went out with two different injuries early. He allowed one pressure and had the team’s worst run blocking grade at 31.9.
Joe Alt let up a pair of pressure before going down with another high ankle sprain. Bozeman’s lone pressure allowed was a sack.

Oweh put together his best game as a member of the Chargers with a two-sack performance that now gives him four in as many games this year since being traded. He and Tuli Tuipulotu both led the team with three total pressures.
James was top two in tackling, run defense, and pass rush while ending up fourth in coverage.
After recording two sacks against the Vikings, Eboigbe showed up as a run defender against Tennessee, posting the team’s highest run defense grade (77.0).
