It was a cool idea, but it’s not going to happen.
The NFL is close to unveiling the 2025 schedule, but the international schedule will be released over the next couple of days.
In March, Madrid’s mayor mentioned they would be hosting an international game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dolphins, but that seems to not be the case.
According to Spanish newspaper Diario AS, the Dolphins will be facing the Washington Commanders on November 16.
Their post on Twitter translates (via Google) to, “The team from the US capital, as “AS” has learned, will face the Miami Dolphins on November 16 in the first official NFL game in Spain.”
The Bengals and Commanders actually played each other in London in 2016.
There are seven international games this season, and the Bengals are definitely “due” for one, but it won’t be happening this coming season.
Stay tuned as more news about the 2025 season schedule is released in the coming days.
