The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens are playing again after playing just 17 days ago on Thanksgiving. Then again, these teams are no strangers to short turnarounds. Only a few years ago, Cincinnati and Baltimore met in the final week of the season before playing again in the Wildcard Round. The Bengals won both of those games.
The Bengals would like to repeat that history, as it will keep their very faint postseason hopes potentially alive (as long as the Pittsburgh Steelers also lose). Then again, just getting a sweep against the Ravens might be a bittersweet treat during a lost season.
The Ravens aren’t in much better of a spot. They are coming off a loss to the Steelers last week. They went into Thanksgiving with an opportunity to put a real chokehold on the division. Instead, they have fallen behind the Steelers yet again.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been in a real funk the last few weeks. Last week was the first time he had multiple touchdowns in a game since playing the Miami Dolphins at the end of October. The team was still able to win three of those five games. However, he needs to be better in order to win these AFC North games. We will see if Cincinnati’s defense is up for the challenge again.
