Cincy Jungle
The slim playoff hopes of the Cincinnati Bengals are on the line Sunday when the New England Patriots come to Paycor Stadium, and it is starting to look like the Bengals may get a big boost, according to the team’s injury report.
Franchise quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) was again a full participant in practice and was taking first-team reps. Thanksgiving was initially thought of as the earliest Burrow would return, but there has been speculation from the likes of Adam Schefter that Burrow could be activated and start on Sunday. The team could take the situation as far as Saturday’s walkthrough before a decision is made.
Joe Flacco (shoulder) was again limited, but will likely start if Burrow can’t go.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip/pelvis) was still held out of practice and is trending toward not playing again on Sunday. Head Coach Zac Taylor said on Monday that Hendrickson would be doubtful.
Guard Jalen Rivers (knee/ankle) was a limited participant on Thursday after missing Wednesday. If Rivers does not play, Lucas Patrick will likely start at right guard in his place.
Wide receiver Jermaine Burton (illness) was a full participant for the second-straight day. With Ja’Marr Chase suspended, Burton could see his most significant action of the season after struggling to make the gameday roster.
Mike Gesicki (pectoral) and safety Daijahn Anthony (hamstring) were both full go for the second straight practice. Both had their 21-day practice windows opened, but neither has been removed from injured reserve at this point.
Samaje Perine (ankle) was again out and appears to be a long shot to play Sunday.
For New England, they remain healthy heading into the matchup. Running back Rahmondre Stevenson (toe) was limited, but everyone else was full go.
