A new week of preparation with new injury concerns.
The Cincinnati Bengals will take on the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football in Week 14. With their playoff hopes all but gone, the team is still playing for pride.
In a lost season, some players with injury concerns may not play through injuries they typically could if the team was in the playoff hunt.
Left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (knee/fibula) did not look like himself in the Week 13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. When speaking to the media Thursday, head coach Zac Taylor said Brown is doubtful to play Monday night. This would mean Cody Ford starting at left tackle, which would put Cordell Volson back in the starting lineup at left guard.
Ja’Marr Chase (ankle) popped up on the report. He was listed as a limited participant, as was Tee Higgins, but he was just getting a rest day.
Offensive tackle Amarius Mims (ankle) was a limited participant.
Likely starter at left tackle Cody Ford (back) was listed as a full participant, so he may have just gotten some treatment.
Linebacker Logan Wilson (knee) reportedly had a procedure that should sideline him for the season, but the team hasn’t placed him on injured reserve as of yet. Akeem Davis-Gaither, Joe Bachie, and Maema Njongmeta will see an increased workload with No. 55 out.
Cornerback Josh Newton (ankle) and defensive end Joseph Ossai (thumb) were both limited, while Sheldon Rankins missed yet another practice with an illness.
Kicker Evan McPherson (groin) was also not on the practice field. McPherson is not expected to go on IR, but Cade York will kick for the Bengals in Dallas.
For the Cowboys, they were without Tyler Guyton (ankle/knee) and CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) on Thursday, though Lamb later said he should be fine to play Monday.
Standout guard Zack Martin (ankle/shoulder) went on IR and is out for this one.
Trevon Diggs (knee) and DeMarvion Overshown (hamstring) went limited.
