Bengals Podcast: Defensive End Contract Hubbub
Cincy Jungle Cincy Jungle

The Edge of Tomorrow.

Your friendly neighborhood ball-knowers return to discuss the Cincinnati Bengals' ongoing saga with defensive end contracts. Who would have thought that David Mulugheta’s guy (Joseph Ossai), would be the easy one.

No, Trey Hendrickson is not getting traded. Stop trying to make it happen.

No, Shemar Stewart is not going to enter next year’s NFL Draft. That would be downright nutty.

Both Hendrickson and Stewart seem to have the support of their teammates. Orlando Brown and Joe Burrow, for their part, seem pretty confident this gets worked out.

Hendrickson is working out in Cincinnati at Black Sheep Performance (no connection to the Chris Farley/David Spade film of the same name). He hosted a youth football camp in Dayton last weekend. He’s doing charity events for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital while wearing his jersey and Ted Karras’s hat.

All of these things seem to be very good signs that the Trey Hendrickson drama could be nearing an end.

Then there is Shemar Stewart. This drama just won’t die.

His agent had a conversation with Christian Fauria and Bleav’s own Solomon Wilcots, and he said a lot of things that you would expect him to say, but he did make a couple of comments that are pretty telling.

Plus, we talk about what Chris Tucker and Zac Taylor have in common: P.H.A.T.

Taylor wants his Physical Hungry Accountable Team. Me, I just want Rush Hour 4: Commuter Lane.

Besides, maybe there is a better, more up-to-date acronym for the 21st century?
