NFL fans are saying the same thing after a video surfaced of Dallas Cowboys backup quarterback Joe Milton III throwing a dime in training camp.
Three weeks before the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cowboys acquired Joe Milton and a seventh-round pick from the New England Patriots in exchange for a fifth-round pick. The Pats signed veteran journeyman Josh Dobbs to take over as the backup QB behind starter Drake Maye, opening the door for Milton to get a change of scenery.
Milton is the No. 2 quarterback on Dallas’ depth chart behind Dak Prescott. Cooper Rush and Trey Lance, who backed up Prescott last year, signed with the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers in free agency, respectively.
On Saturday afternoon, Jon Machota of The Athletic posted a video of Milton delivering a beautiful deep ball with the simple flick of a wrist:

NFL fans delivered the same hot take after seeing this video: That Joe Milton will (or should) eventually replace Dak Prescott as the starting quarterback.

It’s obviously unlikely that Milton will replace Prescott as the starting quarterback, but you never know when a backup’s name might be called. Unfortunately, Prescott hasn’t been durable, missing multiple games in three of the last five years.
The Cowboys will kick off their 2025 season on the road against the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4 at Lincoln Financial Field.
Even if Prescott stays healthy and produces at his usual level, the Cowboys will still need to give Milton some snaps. There will be garbage time moments to put him in, though head coach Brian Schottenheimer could consider using him in trick plays and RPOs....
