Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger predicts Pittsburgh’s 2025 record with and without Aaron Rodgers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL for the 2025 season. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger believes whether or not Pittsburgh eventually signs Aaron Rodgers will have a major impact on how the season unfolds.

“All these games, too, in my opinion, are Aaron Rodgers-laden questioned,” Roethlisberger said on the latest episode of “Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger.” “With and without Aaron, I feel like we’re two different teams.”

The Steelers currently have quarterbacks Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and Will Howard, their sixth-round pick (No. 185) in the 2025 NFL Draft, under contract.

If it stays that way, Roethlisberger thinks head coach Mike Tomlin will have his first losing season. If not, he believes Pittsburgh will make a push for the playoffs.

“I have us at 7-10 without Aaron and I have us 11-6 with Aaron,” Roethlisberger continued. “That’s called three letters, H-O-F. That’s what that will get you. That will get you a few more wins.”

The seven games Roethlisberger thinks the Steelers will win with or without Rodgers are the New York Jets (Week 1), Seattle Seahawks (Week 2), Cleveland Browns (Week 6), Indianapolis Colts (Week 9), Chicago Bears (Week 12), Miami Dolphins (Week 15) and Baltimore Ravens (Week 18).

The six games he believes will be losses with or without Rodgers are the Minnesota Vikings (Week 4), Cincinnati Bengals (Week 7), Los Angeles Chargers (10), Buffalo Bills (Week 13), Baltimore Ravens (Week 14) and Detroit Lions (Week 16).

However, there are four games that he thinks Rodgers would be the difference maker — the New England Patriots (Week 3), Green Bay Packers (Week 8), Cincinnati Bengals (Week 11) and Cleveland Browns (Week 17).

Four games may not seem like a lot, but it could be the difference between a top 12 pick in next year’s draft and another trip to the playoffs.

All signs still point toward the Steelers landing Rodgers, so Roethlisberger believes the latter is more likely as of now.
