Before the Roar: Previewing Lions vs Steelers
Pride of Detroit Pride of Detroit

We are back with another episode of Pride of Detroit’s weekly preview podcast, “Before the Roar,” where myself (Morgan), Meko Scott, and Max Gerber breakdown everything ahead of the Detroit Lions’ Week 16 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Despite a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15, the Lions’ path to the postseason remains fairly simple. Win these next three games and odds are, you will punch your ticket to the dance, and from there—anything can happen. And all of it starts with handling business at home.

With all of that said, the Steelers also have plenty to play for. Sitting atop of a struggling AFC North division with a record of 8-6, Pittsburgh also controls their own playoff destiny. Coming off of consecutive wins in Weeks 14 and 15 over the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins, they will be looking to continue their winning ways in Detroit.

To begin, we analyze each team’s Wednesday injury reports, including the potential return of Lions starting left guard Christian Mahogany. From there we get into ways we think the Lions’ defense can get after a somewhat limited Pittsburgh offense, as well as how the offense can continue to put up points against a stout Steelers’ defense.

We wrap things up by discussing our picks for this week’s X-factors, and give our score predictions for the game. You can listen wherever you get your podcasts, and watch the full episode over on the Pride of Detroit YouTube channel.
