Jackson Powers-Johnson sends message to Steelers’ star

NFL players get bored in the offseason.

They miss the competition and sometimes they start talking.

It happens all the time and it has bled over to the Las Vegas Raiders and just like that we have a little good old fashioned NFL beef brewing.

Appearing on teammate Maxx Crosby’s The Rush Podcast, Raiders’ center Jackson Powers-Johnson was asked about his welcome to the NFL moment and the 2024 second-round pick from Oregon pointed to a Week 6 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers when he gave up his first sack (ever) to Steelers’ star defensive tackle Cam Heyward.

Johnson he wasn’t beat on the play and it was his fault. “He didn’t beat me. I beat myself. I overset,” Powers-Johnson said. He went to say Heyward talked a lot after the play and he wants to see him again.

Of course, Heyward caught wind of Powers-Johnson’s words and he had a response on his own podcast, Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, which is powered by Vox Media. Heyward said he beat the rookie on multiple occasions in the Steelers’ 32-13 road win.

“That wasn’t the first time he got beat. I’m going to be honest,” Heyward said.

Sadly. the Raiders and Steelers don’t play this season. Perhaps we can revisit this beef in the postseason.
