Luther Burden essentially provided a tutorial on how to identify a genuine woman who is not motivated by money.
Before the Chicago Bears wideout was in the league, he was at the University of Missouri. As a sophomore, Burden had 1,212 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. In all three years in college, he had at least six touchdowns every season.
The five-star recruit was named first-team All-SEC after the 2023 season. During his three-year college career, Burden recorded 192 receptions for 2,263 yards. He also had a total of 21 touchdowns to go along with 34 rush attempts for another 234 yards and four scores.
The Bears landed an explosive playmaker in Luther Burden III in the second round of the NFL Draft. None of what he had done in college or before was known to his girlfriend when they met.
Rain Drops Media shared a heartfelt post on social media about Burden and his girl. While playing for the Missouri Tigers, he told his girlfriend, Kendall Minglae, that he was a bench player. She knew nothing about him since she didn’t follow the sport.
She had not researched him and was unaware that he was a standout wide receiver. One game, Luther Burden called her to watch him play. He surprised her with five touchdowns. She was left shocked.
Luther Burden told his girlfriend he was a bench player in college when they first met and invited her to a game. She still came to support him, and he had 5 touchdowns in that game. Shortly after, she realized he was the #1 receiver in the country. ❤️ 🏈 pic.twitter.com/KxTjnsB3EN

Burden’s career got off to a rough start. He missed OTAs, minicamp, and the first four days of training camp due to a hamstring injury. During Bears training camp, Burden misaligned at the line of scrimmage in a team drill. He would be kicked off the field and “chewed out.”
In the playoff game against the Packers, Burden either gave up on his route or ran the wrong play. It would lead to an interception. Luckily for him, a Packers player made the mistake of simply not knocking down the fourth-down play.
He has a chance to make up for it in the Divisional Round.
