Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore appeared to throw head coach Matt Eberflus under the bus after losing to the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
The Bears lost 23-20 to Detroit on the day and had a chance to tie the game or even win it in the dying embers. However, Eberflus strangely turned down the opportunity to use a timeout in field goal range.
The clock ended up running out on Chicago, who were unable to attempt what would have been a game-tying field goal as the fixture ended with an incomplete pass.
While quarterback Caleb Williams took responsibility for the loss, Moore was not as charitable and called out his coach for failing to use a timeout while speaking to reporters after the game.

As for Eberflus, the head coach avoided a direct response after reporters quizzed him on the gaffe.
“Like I said, disappointing for the players. They put a lot of work in that short week. Put themselves in a position to win that game,” he said.
The Bears also had some tough calls go against them on Thursday, but they clawed their way back in the fourth quarter and should have been given the opportunity to at least tie things up.
It’s a decision Eberflus won’t be allowed to live down anytime soon.
