Windy City Gridiron
This story stream will be your week-long open thread to discuss anything leading up to the Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers game and anything after, and we’ll keep it pinned to our front page for easy access.
The Bears and Packers first played each other in 1921, and the Packers hold the all-time edge at (108-96-6), but the Bears did win their last meeting on January 5, 2025. That win snapped the Packers’ 11-game win streak in the series.
The Bears are leading the NFC North at (9-3) in Ben Johnson’s first year as head coach, just a half game ahead of Matt LeFleur’s Packers, who are (8-3-1).
At Johnson’s introductory press conference in January, he expressed how glad he was to be staying in the NFC North, praised the coaches and players in the division, and then he leaned into the Bears vs Packers rivalry.
“And to be quite frank with ya, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.”
Emotions are sure to be sky high all week as the best rivalry in sports is renewed.
