The Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions meet on Sunday, and with each team coming off a disappointing NFC North loss, the importance of this one is magnified. The loser of this one will find themselves in a 0-2 divisional hole, and while the 2025 season is still in its infancy, no team wants to climb out of that.

There’s also the Ben Johnson factor, which will have emotions high in both locker rooms and especially among the Motown faithful at Ford Field. Lions fans, for the most part, have spewed vitriol towards the Bears’ new coach for abandoning their franchise for a division rival, so they’ll be in full throat all afternoon.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell is already calling his shot, saying, “We’re going to win this game. We have to.”

Ben Johnson knows how raucous the crowd will be.

“Maybe (a silent cadence) will help this week,” Johnson said. “We’re going to need to do that, and we’re going to need to be really good at that because this is going to be a loud environment that we’re going to. This is going to be a playoff-like atmosphere. Ford Field has been something else over the last couple of years, so we’re going to have to be at our best.”
