The final injury report for the week has been released by both the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders ahead of their huge Monday night game in Landover, Maryland. The bye week came right on time for Chicago, as they’re in line to get almost everyone back, as well as a couple of players who spent the year on injured reserve.
First, the bad news as starting defensive tackle Grady Jarrett has been ruled out with a knee injury. Jarrett hasn’t played in a game since September 21, and he hasn’t practiced since then either. With Grady out, look for the Bears to start Andrew Billings.
The Bears list four players as questionable, but all four practiced in full on Saturday. Rookie tight end Colston Loveland (hip) and kicker Cairo Santos (right thigh) should be good to go.
Defensive end Austin Booker (knee) and running back Travis Homer (calf) had their 21-day practice window opened earlier this week, and both appear to be ready if the Bears want to activate them from injured reserve. A roster move would be necessary for each, which the team would announce tomorrow.
Chicago lists no injury designation for nickelback Kyler Gordon, linebacker T.J. Edwards, or right tackle Darnell Wright, so Edwards and Wright are set to return to their starting spots, and Gordon is set to make his season debut.
Speaking of starting spots, head coach Ben Johnson said earlier today that Theo Benedet will get the nod at left tackle.
The Commanders will be missing a couple of receivers as both Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown are ruled out. Wideout Deebo Samuel Sr. is listed as questionable with a heel injury, but he’s expected to play on Monday night. Running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. (calf) is also listed as questionable, but he missed the entire week of practice. Washington offensive lineman Sam Cosmi, who is in his 21-day window, practiced in full, but he’s doubtful and not expected to be active.
