Chicago’s dynamic rookie duo made history on Sunday in the Chicago Bears’ 47- 42 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and earlier today, each received some well-deserved hardware for their performances.
Tight end Colston Loveland was selected as the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his career-high six receptions, 118 yards, and two touchdowns, including the 58-yard, game-winning touchdown with just 17 seconds left in the game. This was the third-longest game-winning touchdown catch by any rookie in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter or in overtime since 1970.
Loveland is also the fifth rookie tight end in the Super Bowl era with at least 100 receiving yards and multiple touchdown catches in a game.
Loveland is the third Bears rookie to win an Offensive Player of the Week award, joining running back Jordan Howard (Week 8, 2016) and running back Anthony Thomas (Week 14, 2001).
Rookie tailback Kyle Monangai was picked as this week’s recipient of the Angry Runs Scepter by Good Morning Football’s Kyle Brandt after racking up 176 yards on 26 carries.
