Windy City Gridiron
Earlier today, the Chicago Bears announced that they placed cornerback Kyler Gordon on injured reserve for the second time this season. He missed Chicago’s first four games this season with a hamstring injury, returned for their Week 6 game in Washington, played the following week against the Saints, but was placed on IR on October 25 with another soft tissue injury, this time to his calf/groin.
He was activated to the 53-man roster for the Eagles game on Black Friday, but then hurt his groin in warmups last Sunday before the Packers game.
In three games, Gordon has seven tackles, a tackle for loss, and a sack, while playing 119 total snaps.
The Bears had big plans for the 25-year-old nickelback this year, even rewarding him with a contract extension in April. Gordon will need to miss the final four games of the regular season, but if the Bears make the playoffs, he could be activated.
Chicago has also elevated running back Brittain Brown and linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin from the practice squad for tomorrow’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
The Bears currently have an open spot on both the 53-man roster and the 16-man practice squad.
