The Chicago Bears have had up-and-down luck with injury this season, but even with Kyler Gordon returning to IR, there’s some good news. The team announced on Monday that they were opening the 21-day window for two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to return to the team.
Edmunds has four interceptions on the season in just ten games, and his presence at linebacker should increase opportunities for defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to put continue complicating things for rival offenses as the Bears try to make their first playoff push since 2020.
The team now has 21 days to evaluate Edmunds in practice and to either activate him to their roster or to send him to season-ending injured reserve.
Edmunds’ opportunity to play could be a difference-maker as Chicago looks to keep its lead in the NFC, and his veteran leadership could be vital to the team if they make it into playoffs.
