With week 3 of the 2025 NFL preseason in the books for the Chicago Bears, we take a moment to reflect on our ‘Bears on the Bubble’ and make any adjustments after the Chicago Bears visited the Kansas City Chiefs in the final week of the preseason.
5. Travis Homer – RB
Hard to say what they end up doing at RB, and I still think it is more likely that Homer sticks, thanks to his special teams versatility, when considering all of the injuries to the position. However, with newest addition Royce Freeman coming in this week and having an encouraging performance, I could absolutely see Homer not making the final 53.
4. Kiran Amegadjie – OT
With the depth at OT shaking out the way it has, I personally do not expect the 2nd year Tackle from Yale to make the 53 at this point. That said, I believe Ben Johnson and Co. would like to stash the young prospect on the practice squad to continue developing him. Either way, I do not expect Kiran to make the week 1 roster.
3. Dominique Robinson – DE
Clearly, Bears Defensive Coordinator Dennis Allen likes big-bodied defensive ends, as evidenced by the additions of Dayo Odeyingbo (6’5”, 282) and Tanoh Kpassagnon (6’7”, 289), but while DomRob may fall into that category (6’5’, 275), his chances at landing on the 53 are not looking good. Why? Well, fellow DE Austin Booker had arguably the best preseason of any Bear this year and former 7th rounder (via LA Rams in 2022) Daniel Hardy has continued to make his mark on special teams and spot duty as edge rusher (Hardy had another sack last night.) None of these things bode well for DomRob.
2. Tyler Scott – WR
Much has been said about the depth at WR this year for The Beloved. With DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Olamide Zaccheus and rookie Luther Burden III, the Bears have some of the best top end talent across the league. Adding in Devin Duvernay and preseason standouts Jahdae Walker, Maurice Alexander and JP Richardson, there could be 3 guys ahead of Tyler Scott for the 5th WR spot. I would be shocked if he secured his spot on the 53 before those guys and can even envision a scenario where none of the 4 (Walker, Alexander, Richardson and Scott) make the team in 2025. Hopefully, most stick around on the practice squad, but as for Scott, expect him to soon get an opportunity to play somewhere else in 2025 and beyond.
1. Zacch Pickens – DT
Pickens seems to be a great teammate and hard working young pro. I am hopeful that he lands on the Bears practice squad in 2025 but do not expect for him to be on the final 53. Not enough consistency in the run or pass game and though he did recover a fumble in the final preseason game against the Chiefs, not enough impact plays either. While I don’t expect...
