The Chicago Bears watched franchise history take place Wednesday on Madden Cover announcement day. Quarterback Caleb Williams graces the Madden ’27 cover, making him the first Bear to do so.

Now the All-Pro quarterback received a new gift: A flashy chain he’s showed off to commemorate the milestone.

The platinum chain depicts him making a jump pass, which also is the cover art for the upcoming game.

But there’s more features on the chain. “Iceman” is emblazoned on the back of his jersey on the chain. Williams plans to find a place for it with his trophy room.

The 2024 NFL Draft top overall pick hit a new career arc last season playing for new head coach Ben Johnson. The former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator oversaw Williams’ 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns from this past season. This quarterback/head coach collaboration delivered the Bears’ first NFC North division title since 2018, when Williams was still a high schooler.

Chicago enters the 2026 season with higher expectations. The Bears have recreated a championship-or-bust attitude under Johnson. The franchise made aggressive offseason moves too, including adding Super Bowl winning cornerback Coby Bryant to the defense.

Chicago’s fanbase will expect Williams to take new leaps in his second season with Johnson. That includes more than repeating as division champs, but making a push for the conference title. Winning the NFC can bring Williams back to the city where he went on to become the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner. He still has a fan following in Los Angeles, the 2027 site of the Super Bowl.

Williams even visualized becoming the first NFL athlete to go back-to-back in gracing the Madden cover. He’ll need a larger performance in 2026 to do so.
