After there was some that believed that Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons called Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams the best player in the NFL, there was potentially some missing context. As Williams prepares for the 2026 season with the Bears, he would respond to Parsons hyping him up.

The NFL would release a clip on social media where it spliced together various clips, asking players who the best player in the league is, where Parsons’ only part was him saying “Iceman,” in reference to Williams. Though the video didn’t include the question being asked to Parsons, with the Green Bay star saying it was “clip farming.”

Still, Parsons had a segment that talked about how impressive a player Williams is, with the quarterback responding nonchalantly.

“It’s cool,” Williams said.

Caleb Williams was asked about Micah Parsons calling him the best QB in football.

Williams said it was cool to hear, but called it a rivalry in his eyes.

Williams would also be asked if he would ever vote for a Packers player on the Top 100 list, leading to a funny answer.

“Probably not, but that’s on my side of how I do things, but you know, obviously, he’s a phenomenal player, you worry about him every single snap,” Williams said.

Bears’ Caleb Williams responds to Micah Parsons’ challenge

One of the sentiments that Parsons said to Williams after praising him is that he’s the “fire” that will melt the “ice.”

“I got [something] for Iceman, for sure,” Parsons said. “Where there’s ice, there’s also fire, and I’m the fire.”

Williams would call that “good jokes,” and calls the shot a part of the long-standing rivalry between the Bears and the Packers.

“Just funny, you know. Obviously, it’s, you know, good jokes. Obviously, you know, we’re football players and on opposite teams, so it’s a little rivalry, but nothing taken to heart, and things like that. He said he’s fire, and I’m ice, so see which one holds over,” Williams said.

At any rate, Williams looks to take another step in 2026 with Chicago, as Week 1 is on Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers, and the next time they take on Green Bay will be on Oct. 11. The Bears look to further improve after finishing with an 11-6 record, taking the NFC North.
