EA Sports has officially unveiled the cover of Madden NFL 27, featuring Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, confirming leaks that surfaced late last month.

The cover art showcases the 24-year-old signal-caller preparing to throw a pass against the backdrop of the iconic Chicago skyline.

As noted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Williams makes franchise history by becoming the first Bears player to appear on the cover of the video game series since its inception in 1988.

This milestone highlights Williams’ rapid rise to NFL stardom, as he successfully led the Bears to the playoffs last season, ending a four-year drought.

During an impressive sophomore campaign, the former number-one overall pick threw for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Despite his prestigious cover spot, the young quarterback’s initial rating in the game has sparked some playful tension.

Recently, NFL insider Ari Meirov shared a video clip revealing that Williams received an initial Madden rating of 90, despite being the featured cover athlete.

Instead of being discouraged by this relatively modest rating, Williams reacted confidently, stating, “At the end of the year, it will be 99. Alright.”

This bold remark reflects his competitive mindset as he aims to earn a spot in the exclusive 99 Club through his real-world performances.

During his appearance on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce, Williams expressed that being featured on the cover is a dream come true.

He also shared his ambitious goal of becoming the first player to appear on the Madden cover in consecutive years, and he noted that his pose on the cover was a deliberate homage to Michael Jordan’s iconic Jumpman photo, set against the city skyline.
