The Chicago Bears’ offense is starting to look like the offense Bears fans expected to see with Ben Johnson at the helm. After an elite performance against the Dallas Cowboys and a dramatic one against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Bears come out of the bye looking to start putting this season in a positive direction.
We returned to our winning ways against the Raiders. We went 2-1 with Caleb Williams being just 12 yards shy of delivering a 3-0 week to us, but we will take the 2-1 record, with our season record now being 7-5. With the Bears facing the Commanders on Monday Night Football, we look at three more player props to consider (odds courtesy of FanDuel).
This one didn’t hit last game, but I think the Bears are going to pass the ball against this Commanders team. There are places in this Commanders’ defense to attack, and I think Johnson will focus on having Caleb pass the football. The Commanders have a decent run defense, but they are one of the bottom 10 teams in the league at stopping the pass. Being the Bears’ passing game looks better than the running game, I think Caleb Williams gets things going this week.
DJ Moore has been below this number the last two weeks, but I just think this number is too low for Moore. Moore hasn’t been as involved in the offense, but he has speed, and I think he can exploit the Commanders’ secondary and get open. Moore is too talented to have three games below 40 yards.
In every game this season, the Commanders have had a running back go over 20 yards receiving. They don’t do a great job covering guys coming out of the backfield, as the linebackers can be exploited in coverage. I don’t think you can trust Swift and rushing props based on how little vision he’s shown in Ben Johnson’s running scheme, but there should be opportunities for Swift in the passing game, and I’m sure Johnson knows this and will try to get him going with some screens and wheel routes.
