Windy City Gridiron
The Chicago Bears have now had two games in a row where they snatched the Dub from the jaws of defeat. They did so against two teams they were favored to beat — so they did exactly what they were supposed to do — but that’s still not enough for some people. Some want blowouts. Some want eye-popping stats. Some want a flawless victory. Some want their gameday experience to feature wins with more panache.
I just want to watch my favorite team win.
In the 13 years since Lovie Smith was fired, the Chicago Bears have had one winning season.
In the 33 years since Mike Ditka was fired, the Bears have played in the postseason seven times.
Two straight comeback wins and the Bears are now three games over .500 for the first time since 2020, so I’ll enjoy this moment while being hopeful for the future with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams.
An ugly win is better than a pretty loss.
