Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco went on a compelling rant about social media today, and it may or may not have included a subtle shot toward teammate Shedeur Sanders.
After a one-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts, Joe Flacco returned to the Browns on a one-year deal in free agency. GM Andrew Berry also acquired Kenny Pickett via trade with the Philadelphia Eagles before drafting Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders in the third and fifth rounds, respectively.
Given Flacco’s experience and familiarity with Cleveland’s offense (he won Comeback Player of the Year honors with the Browns in 2023), the 40-year-old is believed to be the favorite for the starting quarterback job.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Joe Flacco expressed his concerns with social media, pointing out how many users get their “news” through that. The Super Bowl 47 MVP was especially critical of TikTok dances.
“The fact that people wanna get on their phones and show people (TikTok dances) like that’s embarrassing,” Flacco said. “You’re an adult. Be an adult. I can’t wrap my head around that.”
Daryl Ruiter of Sports Radio 92.3 The Fan shared the video of Flacco’s priceless rant:

Could that be a shot at Shedeur Sanders? Like his old man, Shedeur has a wide following on social media and loves any media attention he can get. Hmm…

Anyway, the battle for the Browns’ starting quarterback job continues, with Flacco presumably in the driver’s seat.
With injuries at quarterback, the Browns got desperate and brought back a 38-year-old Flacco midway through the 2023 season.
Flacco enjoyed a career revival, winning four of five starts and throwing 13 touchdowns against eight interceptions. The Browns finished 11-6 and reached the postseason for just the second time since 2003, where they fell to the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round.
