Baltimore Ravens cornerback Nate Wiggins was kicked out of joint practice with the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday after getting into a heated altercation.

According to reports, the incident occurred after Ravens backup CB Keyon Martin made a late push on Colts running back Tyler Goodson. This led to an exchange that saw Wiggins sprint down the sideline and throw several punches.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley said the CB delivered “several uppercuts” as both teams’ sidelines emptied out.

Wiggins, who is heading into his second year with the team, was escorted off the field and stayed inside the team facility for the rest of the session.

The team hasn’t announced any disciplinary action and probably won’t, but there is a desire to crack down on the number of preseason fights every year, so the incident could come up in at least a few meetings.

Opposing Player Speaks In Nate Wiggins’ Defense

The 2024 first-round pick impressed in his first season with the Ravens, playing in 15 games, recording 33 tackles, 13 pass breakups, and a pick-six. He earned plaudits for his physicality and improved strength late in the campaign.

The Ravens will also want to see improved maturity from the second-year player following his behavior on Tuesday.

“That’s joint practice, you know. No matter what, you can’t get out of a joint practice without a fight,” Colts safety Cam Bynum said after the skirmish, per The Athletic. “You gotta stand up for your teammates.”

The two teams are scheduled to play each other in a preseason fixture this coming Thursday.

At the moment, there’s no reason for Nate Wiggins not to play, but it will be interesting to see what the Ravens do.
