Offense

The Ravens lost two offensive starters to injury during their Week 16 defeat against the New England Patriots. Lamar Jackson exited before halftime after 26 snaps, followed by Andrew Vorhees (42 snaps) later in the second half. Neither of them returned, resulting in Tyler Huntley (29 snaps) finishing the game at quarterback and Emery Jones Jr. stepping in at left guard with a 24% snap share.

In the backfield, Derrick Henry played five more snaps than Keaton Mitchell (24 to 19). Rasheen Ali played 12 snaps in his usual third down role. Henry lost a key fumble in the first quarter but was nearly unstoppable overall, as he totaled 128 yards with two touchdowns and averaged 7.1 yards per carry. On the final two drives of the fourth quarter, Henry did not see the field, however, which was a head-scratching coaching decision.

It was another non-factor performance from Rashod Bateman, who played 38 snaps (69%) with no catches on two targets. Meanwhile, Zay Flowers caught all seven of his targets for over 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in 49 snaps — before also losing a costly fumble on the final offensive drive of the game. Deandre Hopkins (20 snaps) had a season-high four receptions with 41 receiving yards.

Charlie Kolar again led the tight ends in snap count with 27, followed closely by Mark Andrews (24 snaps) and Isaiah Likely (22 snaps). Likely was surprisingly blanked in the passing game and not targeted, while Andrews and Kolar combined for only three catches and 39 yards. All three had a positive impact in run blocking, though.

Defense

For the second straight week, the Ravens’ defense was on the field for 70+ plays. Kyle Hamilton played 100% of snaps again despite being a game-time decision with an ankle injury. Fellow safeties Alohi Gilman (73 snaps), Malaki Starks (57 snaps), and Ar’Darius Washington (20 snaps) all exceeded a 30% snap share as well.

At linebacker, Teddye Buchanan’s absence saw Trenton Simpson step back into a starting role. He played 53 snaps (72%) alongside Roquan Smith, who went the distance with 74 snaps. Backups Jake Hummel and William Kwenkeu each played one lone defensive snap. Meanwhile at cornerback, with, Chidobe Awuzie inactive due to a foot injury, Marlon Humphrey (67 snaps) and Nate Wiggins (71 snaps) played almost the whole game.

Mike Green’s playing time decreased significantly on the edge, as he played the lowest snaps (34 snaps) at the position. Tavius Robinson played a group-high 53 snaps (72%) in his second game back from injury, followed by Dre’Mont Jones with 45 snaps and Kyle Van Noy with 36 snaps.

Travis Jones as per usual led all defensive linemen with 57 snaps (77%) and racked up seven pressures and a quarterback hit. John Jenkins played 50% of snaps and practice squad call-up Josh Tupou saw 30 defensive reps after being activated for this game. Brent Urban also played a decent amount of snaps with 26.
