We’ve made it through the first quarter at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, and the Minnesota Vikings lead the Baltimore Ravens early by a score of 7-3.
The Ravens got the football first after the Vikings won the coin toss and chose to defer to the second half. The defense got themselves established right away, as they forced the Ravens’ offense into a three-and-out on their opening possession, taking over at their own 14-yard line after the punt. After picking up one third-down conversion, J.J. McCarthy made a second one, as he found Jalen Nailor on a pass that turned into a 62-yard gain down to the Baltimore 4-yard line. Aaron Jones finished things off from there, as he took a handoff and went in for a 4-yard touchdown over the left side to give the Vikings an early 7-0 lead.
The Ravens put together a solid drive on their second possession, but had to settle for a 44-yard field goal from Tyler Loop to make the score 7-3 with just over four minutes left in the first quarter.
The Vikings’ offense went three-and-out on their next possession, with the Ravens taking over at their own 15 after the Ryan Wright punt. As we move on to the second quarter of play, the Ravens are getting ready to punt after what appears to be another three-and-out, as they’re looking at 4th-and-7 from their own 18-yard line.
