Kliff Kingsbury’s departure from the Washington Commanders was a big surprise around the NFL. However, he’s unlikely to be out of work for long.

In a surprise development, the Commanders announced they were moving on from Kliff Kingsbury and defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. Kingsbury was hired by Dan Quinn in 2024, unlocking Jayden Daniels’ potential and helping Washington to a surprise NFC Championship Game appearance last year.

One team that could target the former Arizona Cardinals’ head coach? The Baltimore Ravens, who just moved on from future Hall of Famer John Harbaugh.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Kliff Kingsbury is “a name to watch” in the Ravens’ head coaching search. Russini added that many around the NFL think Baltimore is “an ideal landing spot” for the 46-year-old.

Kingsbury’s four-year stint as the Cardinals’ head coach left a lot to be desired. But he’s had success working with the likes of Patrick Mahomes (at Texas Tech), Kyler Murray (Arizona), Caleb Williams (USC) and Daniels.

Kliff Kingsbury Makes Perfect Sense For Baltimore

If he came to Baltimore, Kingsbury would work with two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. As good as Daniels was as a rookie, and as dazzling as Murray sometimes was, neither of them has been on the level of Jackson.

Kingsbury has never had a full-time veteran starting quarterback to work with during his time in the NFL. Pair him with Jackson, and there’s no telling how potent the Baltimore offense could be.

It has been widely reported that a rift developed between Harbaugh and Jackson. There are plenty of quality head coaching candidates available, yes. But selecting a young, offense-driven coach like Kingsbury might be the best bet for Baltimore.

The Ravens are coming off a disappointing 8-9 season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2021. It was also just their third losing season under Harbaugh.
